FARGO (KFGO) – Dave Aamodt calls it his personal journey down Highway 61, a reference to his passion for Bob Dylan’s music and Dylan’s concerts. Aamodt, a Barnesville native, who now lives in the Seattle area, is no stranger to traveling to those concerts.
Thursday, he attended his 97th Dylan concert in Phoenix, Arizona, the first leg of the songwriting legend’s 2022 U.S. “Rough and Rowdy Ways” tour.
Friday, Aamodt hits his 98th Dylan concert in Tucson. Next week, he heads to Texas where he will attend three Dylan performances, which will push Aamodt over 100 concerts following the music legend he’s hooked on. He said growing up in the 1960’s, he latched onto Dylan’s music. He admits Dylan is an “acquired taste, not everybody likes him.”
Aamodt went to his first Bob Dylan concert in 1978 and has kept nearly every concert ticket since then. Aamodt said he’ll be happy to be in triple digits before the end of March but he can’t outdo a friend who is “north” of 300 Dylan shows.
Aamodt has attended Dylan concerts in 19 states and two Canadian provinces.
