LEEDS, N.D. (KFGO) – A close call in northeastern North Dakota when a BNSF freight train was struck by a semi at a crossing.
Benson County Sheriff Ethan Rode says the semi-driver, from Pennsylvania, failed to yield and was hit broadside on the passenger side. He was treated for minor injuries at the hospital in Devils Lake. The crash occurred at about 12:30 p.m. Monday.
Rode says there were near white-out conditions at the time of the crash and the truck driver was not paying close attention. The collision remains under investigation.
