ELGIN, MINN. – A 63-year-old Rochester, Minnesota man is accused of shooting at three men who came to rural Olmsted County on New Year’s Day to hunt pheasants.
Authorities say the men stopped in the Elgin area after spotting a bird along the road when a woman from a nearby property yelled at them to leave. After they drove away, a pickup passed them from behind and then stopped, blocking the road — and the driver got out with a rifle and began firing at them.
They were able to get away and called 9-1-1 and authorities later arrested the man for drive-by-shooting, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless discharge, and reckless driving.
