Melinda Ann Duttenhefer, 50, died on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at CHI St. Alexius Dickinson. Melinda’s Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. CT on Friday, December 17, 2021 at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, 120 8th St. S., Moorhead, MN, 56560, with Rev. Charles Cherry officiating. Inurnment will take place at Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Staples, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Melinda Ann Dahl-Weber was born on May 6, 1971 in Staples, MN, the daughter of Gary and Deborrah (Dahl) Weber. She graduated from West Fargo High School in 1989. She went on to attend and graduated from Rasmussen College in Fargo with a degree in travel. She worked for Travel and Transport in Fargo and during this time she also worked as a caregiver for her great-aunt Lorraine Hankey.
Melinda married Brad Duttenhefer on June 9, 2012 at the Red River Valley Zoo. Following their married she remained in West Fargo where she began a dog breeding business. She and Brad were foster parents for three kids. She moved to Dodge with Brad in 2018 where she expanded her love and care for animals, something she wanted to do her entire life.
She loved to fish, sew and do crafts, working in the garden or anything outdoors. She was a member of the Dodge City Council, M & M Rescue in Beulah, Sewing Club in Richardton. While in high school she played tennis and had a fondness for owls. She was very devoted to her father and brothers!!
Melinda is survived by her husband, Brad; step-daughters, Kyrah Duttenhefer, Bismarck and Katrina Duttenhefer, Watford City; stepson, Alexander (Abby) Duttenhefer, Hazen; grandchildren, Alivia and Alexius Duttenhefer, Hazen; father, Gary Weber, Moorhead; brothers, Riley Weber, Minneapolis, Kelly Weber, Moorhead; and also her extended Duttenhefer family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Deborrah; grandparents; great-aunt, Lorraine; and mother-in-law, Dianne Duttenhefer.
