MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Authorities say they are concerned by an incident outside a Hennepin County judge’s front door.
Judge Regina Chu will be hearing the case against former police officer Kim Potter in three weeks. Potter is charged with manslaughter in the shooting of Daunte Wright. Chu has decided that cameras won’t be allowed in the courtroom.
Demonstrators led by activist Cortez Rice went to what they thought was the judge’s front door Saturday night to demand that cameras be allowed in. Rice joined about 20 other protesters yelling for the judge to make the change.
Those protesters also confronted other residents who entered the condo building. There has been much criticism for the way the protesters handled the incident.
