FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State Bison soccer team fell to the University of Nebraska-Omaha 4-0 in Summit League play Friday night at Dacotah Field.
Omaha (7-6-2, 4-2-0 Summit) scored a pair of goals in each half to hand the Bison (2-10-1, 2-4-0 Summit) their third-straight league loss.
Andrea Daves would score two goals on the night for the Mavericks, opening the scoring with a shot off the cross bar and down just across the line before it bounced back into play. The shot was initially ruled no goal, but was eventually overturned, giving the Mavericks the lead in the 25th minute.
In the 40th minute, Omaha would double its lead with a goal from Sophia Green. The Mavericks would lead the Bison 2-0 at the break, holding NDSU to just one shot.
North Dakota State would threaten early in the second half, but could not cut into the deficit. Omaha would add to its lead with a goal from Cece Behrens in the 66th minute. Daves would score her second in the 72nd minute to cap the scoring.
Omaha led in shots for the entire game, 8-6. Dani Stuber, who made her first start of the season for the Bison, and Aliya Owens had the only shots on goal for North Dakota State.
Omaha had the only corner kick of the game, while the Bison led in fouls 11-8.
Sofia Howe played the first 45 minutes, making one save in goal. Aly Cole would play the second 45 minutes for the Bison.
North Dakota State will return to action on Sunday with the final home game of the season, welcoming in defending league champions Denver.
