ISABELLA, Minn. – Firefighters in northeast Minnesota are taking advantage of a third-straight day of favorable weather to further shore-up defenses at the massive Greenwood wildfire in Lake County.
The Arrowhead is expected to receive more rainfall today (Saturday). Information officer Clark McCreedy says there’s a big push to extend containment lines, so all potential fuel is removed.
He says “we’re making such a substantial and concerted effort… because we know this is gonna be tested, come Sunday and Monday.”
McCreedy says that’s when warm, dry and gusty weather is expected to return.
