Roger G. Gress
FARGO (KFGO) – The Fargo Park District opened its five outdoor pools for the summer Monday, June 7 and one pool will have a new name honoring a public servant. The northside pool is now known as Roger G. Gress Pool.
The pools include Island Park Pool, Madison Pool & Splash Pad, Davies Recreational Pool, Southwest Recreation Pool. A ceremony was held to officially rename the pool after the longtime park district executive director.
Gress is a Fargo native and started at the Fargo Park District in 1979 as the Park Designer and Planner. He then moved on to serve on the Park Board and was late appointed as the Executive Director of Fargo Parks in 1991.
He retired in 2016.
