MINNESOTA – The summer fishing season is now officially open in Minnesota.
State officials are predicting about a half-million anglers will be trying to catch walleye, bass, northern pike and trout this weekend. The D-N-R’s Brad Parsons says fishing has never been more popular in the state based on license sales. Parson says we’re actually right on par with last year, which is good because last year was our best year in 20 years. He says fishing conditions should be good in Minnesota, based on normal water temperatures this spring.
The Governor’s Fishing Opener was in Otter Tail County this year after being canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
