MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – There will be cameras and microphones in the courtroom for the sentencing of ex-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin next month.
His trial for the death of George Floyd in April was the first time a Minnesota was broadcast live.
Hennepin County Judge Peter Cahill signed the order Thursday allowing production equipment in the courtroom and barring anyone except for attorneys to carry electronic devices.
Chauvin will face an upward departure from state sentencing guidelines.
