MOORHEAD (KFGO) – Members of the Moorhead mosque found the mosque vandalized Sunday morning.
The building was spray-painted with derogatory terms and hate speech. Video surveillance showed a suspect wearing a camouflage jacket and dark ski mask.
Vice President of the Moorhead Mosque Ademola Hammed says the Islamic community still feels safe and encourages open conversation.
“We believe this community is safe for us to stay, some people just show hatred. We’re here to communicate, we’re hear to tell you more about Islam. Lots of people have a preconceived notion of what Islam is, it is a peaceful religion.”
The Moorhead Police Department Patrol and the Fargo office of the FBI are investigating.
