Charges pending against driver seriously injured in SUV/semi crash near Hillsboro

TRAILL COUNTY, N.D. (KFGO) – Charges are pending against a driver who crashed into a semi-truck Saturday night on I-29, five miles north of Hillsboro.

The State Patrol says an SUV driven by Stacy Bakke was going between 65 and 70 mph when he struck the back of the semi without braking.

Bakke, 53, of Larimore, was taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks with serious injuries.  The driver of the semi was not hurt

The crash remains under investigation.
