Jane (Conmy) Reff died gracefully on November 15, 2020, at home with her soulmate and husband, Jack Sunday, at her side.
Jane was born in Fargo, ND, on December 4, 1942, to Edward Thomas “Tom” Conmy, Jr. and Doris (Nelson) Conmy.
Jane grew up in the Clara Barton neighborhood. Both of the homes in which she grew up still look much the same as they did in when Jane lived there in the 40s and 50s.
Jane graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1960 and then NDSU in 1964 with degrees in mathematics and education. Throughout her 38 years of teaching in Long Beach California, Moorhead, the Fargo Public Schools, Jane touched many students’ lives.
She was especially fond of her students at Woodrow Wilson High School where she “really learned how to teach.”
After retiring, Jane served for 17 years on the Fargo Public Schools Credit Union Board of Directors as Treasurer.
Jane enjoyed many days away from the cold in Naples, FL, with family and friends. She loved the tropical plants and outdoor spaces that Naples offered.
She counts many people she met in Florida as great friends.
As a lifelong sports fan, Jane enjoyed NDSU football, the Minnesota Twins, and UND hockey. An avid reader, she always carried a book with her because “you never know when you’ll have to wait for someone.”
Jane is survived by husband, Jack Sunday, children Mike Reff and Susan Reff (Mike Farrell) and grandson Johnathan, bonus children Curt Rogers, Casey Rogers, and Charlie Rogers, brothers David Conmy and Bruce Conmy (Lynette), sister-in-law Liz Anne (Quam) Conmy, and many nieces and nephews. Jane is preceded in death by her parents and eldest brother, Edward Thomas “Tom” Conmy III.
When it is safe to gather together, the family will have a public service to celebrate Jane. Arrangements through Boulger Funeral Home. Memorials to the Gladys Ray Shelter in Fargo, ND, or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
