ST. PAUL, Minn. – Many Minnesota businesses have open jobs but are reporting having a hard time finding the employees they need.
At the same time, Minnesota’s unemployment rate remains elevated with workers continuing to seek job opportunities. State Department of Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Steve Grove says that’s why DEED is launching #GoodJobsNow, an interactive set of resources connecting Minnesota employers hiring right now with job seekers looking for work.
Grove said, “While we know that for many Minnesotans that changing jobs might be hard and we certainly leave that up to the job seeker to decide what’s right for you. We do want to highlight both what is available in the market and also how we can help people get those jobs.”
During the second quarter of 2020, employers reported a total of just under 111,800 job vacancies in Minnesota.
