| Dorothy DuBord, 98, of Fargo died Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Sanford Hospice House. Dorothy was born on April 4, 1922 to Arthur and Antoinette (Sauvageau) Duval on a farm near Horace, ND. She grew up near Hickson, ND and attended school at St. Joseph’s Academy, St. Benedict’s Church, Wild Rice, ND. Ernest and Dorothy were married at St. Benedict’s Church, Wild Rice, ND On November 14, 1944. They farmed together until their retirement in 1986, at which time they moved to Fargo. Ernest and Dorothy had a trailer on Spirit Lake near Vergas, MN for 24 years. Dorothy was a wonderful cook, and it was no problem finding people to help with harvest and haying because she was known for her delicious meals. When people came to visit, you had to have a little lunch before you left. Dorothy had a large garden with many vegetables and flowers. She so loved her sizable family and remembered all their names, even at the age of 98 and 1/2 years of age. She is survived by her children, Sharon (Curt) Haakenson of Albuquerque,NM; Kathleen (Paul) Willison of Hillsboro,ND; Leo DuBord of Horace,ND; Joanne (Michael) Lenertz of Moorhead,MN; Michael (Kathy) DuBord of Fargo,ND; Curt (Kari) DuBord of Vergas, MN; son-in-law Tom Valentine of Wales, ND; 24 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ernest, daughter Marie, grandson Eric, her sisters Yvette Richard and Claudia Cossette; and brother Raymond. A private service will be held. The service will be livestreamed on Boulger Funeral Home’s website at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 15, 2020. |
