Midwestern utility Evergy plans to remain independent company: source

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Evergy Inc plans to remain an independent company, with the Midwestern utility due to unveil a new standalone business plan as part of the company’s earnings disclosure on Wednesday, a source familiar with the matter said.

Evergy could not immediately be reached for comment. Bloomberg News reported earlier on Tuesday that Evergy had decided to forgo a sale.
