With fans still missing a huge amount of live sports I thought we’d take a look back in history 100 years ago today. May 20th, 1920
First off from the Washington Evening Star…Special protection for one of the greatest race horses ever..
An article inserted into the Bemidji Pioneer says in Rugby N.D. they’re getting ready for the big hunt. Losers cook dinner (hope not gopher)
From the May 20th 1920 New York Sun Kid Rump help catch a “fair mess of fish”
From the Washington Times…Now that World War I is over they’ve clear the mines and the submarines from the English Channel. “LET’S GO SWIMMING”
Kind of a rarity…a baseball game was played under protest, by BOTH teams.
Hope you enjoyed a little shot for the sports pages of the newspapers of 100 years ago. Any comments please drop me a note at bob.harris@kfgo.com
