Well the playgrounds have been closed to kids, but evidently this duck didn’t get the message!
Fact is this happens in many springs with ducks and geese making poor choices of nesting habitat. Here’s the skinny as most ducks and geese if disturbed will go and re-nest in hopefully better habitat.
The best advice is to either go about your normal business and if the duck or goose leaves all is well. There’s a chance the mother will hatch off the nest. And yes some of the duckling or gosling may not survive. That’s why they lay 8-10 eggs and if 1 or 2 survive a year. They’ve done their job!
