I don’t know what they are in your life, but I know what they are in mine. Those things that are so important to you they’re all you’re thinking about. And giving them up is something you can’t imagine.
Some of you reading this are thinking about how you’re without a job. There are people running around saying that you like it. They think you’re making more money simply by not working. All of that when you actually just want to go back to work.
Others are thinking about seasons. Including how much they love this one. Summers are short and the memories they give are long. The mere thought of not spending time with loved ones is unthinkable. Whether that’s a ballgame, barbecue or day at the lake. It’s part of who we are.
It’s important that we realize our Governors are thinking too. They’re thinking about the same things, only more. They’re getting calls daily, hell hourly, from people telling them this shutdown is killing their business.
Their staff are wondering how to accommodate all the requests. Parents are calling about baseball and softball games. Others are worried about their child being ready for college. Small towns are wondering how they’re going to pay for pools and mowing.
Oh, and don’t forget the President of the United States is telling you to liberate your state through social media.
So, I think we all need to understand what they’re up against. And we need to have patience. The type of patience that requires discipline and trust.
Because together, we all have something to think about.
And it’s killing us.
Good riding with you.
