If you’re from the upper-Midwest, you know how bad the winters can be. We don’t admit it, but they’re hard. So much so that many of us run south the minute the turkey is done on Thanksgiving.
So, spring means a lot. It means being outdoors more than indoors. For those that work inside you get to see the sun before and after work. And everything starts looking up.
That’s why this spring is so hard. We made it through winter and we were ready. Ready to stretch our legs and smile more. It was time to argue in person who saw the first robin. It was time to start having fun.
We all know by now what we’re supposed to do. And even worse, we all know what we’re not supposed to do. None of it is what we wanted to do.
However, what we’re doing matters. It’s not only good for ourselves but good for the nation. COVID-19 is a killer. It may target the elderly but clearly, it would like to get even more.
So this spring will be different. It won’t be ours. It’ll be owned by a disease called coronavirus. And that disease doesn’t care if we’ve been waiting for spring or not.
It only cares if it has summer.
Good riding with you.
