North Dakota State University Extension is offering grants for youth gardening projects.
Around 50 projects are supported across the state each year.
The grant funds may be used to purchase gardening supplies and educational supplies.
For the 2019 year, more than 3,300 youth participated in the Junior Master Gardener projects which included starting school gardens, beautifying schools and parks, constructing raised garden beds, and growing food for local food pantries.
We want to help kids learn about gardening and get active in serving their community, says Tom Kalb, NDSU Extension horticulturist.
Schools, 4-H clubs, church groups, and other youth organizations are encouraged to apply for these grants.
