The cast of ‘The Tempest’ started their rehearsals by digging into the Shakespeare’s script. Once the foundation was built, these talented students and creative team injected all the laughs and adventure you could ever want! ‘The Tempest’ may not be Shakespeare’s most popular work, but it is definitely one of his most entertaining.
Rope ladders and edible worms are two things that these students talk about when putting together the plot. Oh yeah, they also mention the word “ooze” a lot too.
“Shakespeare’s comedy, The Tempest, is a gripping tale of shipwreck and magic. Magician Prospero, formerly the Duke of Milan, and his daughter Miranda have been cast away on an island for twelve years, and the time has come to seek revenge. Prospero and magical spirit Ariel create a tempest that shipwrecks those responsible for Prospero’s fall from power, setting in motion three plots: one of vengeance, one of young love, and one a comedic grab for power. Shakespeare’s final solo play is easy to follow but contains all of his favorite themes, including betrayal, love at first sight, comic misunderstandings, power, magic, and forgiveness.
The Tempest is a favorite of devoted Shakespeare fans but is also a perfect introduction to Shakespeare for children and first-time Shakespeare viewers.” – From Fargo North’s Event page.
