GLADSTONE, N.D. (KFGO) — A man from New York was seriously hurt when the semi he was driving went off an interstate bridge near Gladstone in western North Dakota yesterday evening.
It happened just before 7 p.m. mountain time. The Highway Patrol says the semi was driving east on I-94 when it hit the median guardrail, went onto the bridge, and landed on the bank of the Green River. The road was icy when the crash happened.
The driver was first brought to CHI St. Alexius in Dickinson before later being airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Bismarck. Their condition is unknown.
All lanes of I-94 were closed for about an hour while crews were on scene. North Dakota Highway patrol, Stark County Sheriff’s Office, Gladstone Fire, Dickinson Fire, Dickinson Police, and Dickinson Area Ambulance all responded.
