Our inner-office chili contest winner (well, actually, it was second place, but Amy thought it was the best) comes in to give us some “healthy” chili tips!
Danny Hallock says it was his wife and kids that got him into using turkey burger. And, with a little bit of trial and error, here are some tips he’s learned along the way.
CHILI TIPS
– Use 2-3 different beans
(for colors and presentation)
– Cook the turkey burger with chili infused oil, chili powder
(and don’t throw away that “water” after the cooking process, that holds lots of flavor!)
– 1/2 diced tomatoes (because they break down better) & 1/2 rotel (for a little “kick”)
– Add Chili-infused vinegar (not much!)
– For your topping: try chili Fritos!
And, most importantly, good chili takes time… it gets better with every hour!
