Brook Wadeson, Natasha Bergeron and Brody Salander say they are concerned “van accessible” handicap parking spots are not being used properly.
This concern, brought to them by a fellow student, has spurred an interesting public relations project about the impacts on businesses.
Businesses are only required to have one out of every 7 handicap spots labeled as “van accessible”. And, unfortunately, for those who need to extra space for a ramp and wheelchair, the spots are so necessary that if the spot is unavailable, they may not frequent the business.
