“Vishing”
A “vishing” attack is where a scammer will spoof your financial institution’s phone number to call and convince you of fraudulent activity to try to get you to turn over sensitive information.
Fraud expert Phil Swan says to NEVER give out your card number, the numbers on the back of your card or any information about your account. If it is actually you bank or credit card company calling, they should have that information.
And, if you have doubts, take a name and phone number down and call back. You can never be too safe when it comes to financial information.
