Thursday, February 7, 2019: Amidst blizzard conditions, we had a lot of questions about a “snow emergency” in the city of Fargo.
Ben Dow explains that a “snow emergency” is not something that happens in Fargo because we don’t have parking on primary or secondary arterial plow routes.
Other cities, like Moorhead, allow parking on those streets and during a blizzard – or snow system – will call for a “snow emergency” to get those cars moved so plows can do their jobs.
While Dow says a “no travel advised” within city limits is possible, that is a decision that he, the Mayor and Police Chief would decide upon. He says, for today, we’re not at that point.
