There are no magic phrases to help a loved one who is grieving, but Connie DeKrey (a bereavement specialist with
Hospice of the Red River Valley
) talks about how supporting and listening to those who have lost a loved one can be the first step in helping your friend/co-worker/family member through a difficult time.
Grief doesn’t follow a standard structure or timeline, so each individual goes through a different process as they grieve, but there is a massive amount of help available in our area. One of the best resources is Hospice of the Red River Valley. Hospice has a wide variety of classes they are offering for all types of individuals who are feeling grief. And yes, there are classes for youth as well.
