The buzz around backyards, gazebos and grills has been – when will the mosquitos come out? 
Its no different at the KFGO studios. Talk about long sleeves on long summer nights have been popular around the water cooler.
It Takes Two with Amy Iler and JJ Gordon went straight to the source by tracking down Ben Prather with Cass County Vector Control. They are currently ramping up with efforts – but have already done some initial spraying in areas with still water. Getting ahead of the problem is usually the best course of action this time of year.
We are in a unique pattern as well – being that we went from winter storms into 70+ degree days almost overnight. Remember Spring? It was that one Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm?!?!
Amy also engages Ben in a conversation about bug spray. We hear all types of reports and while Ben has heard of many people swapping the traditional deet products for others, he still thinks the availability and cost of deet are going to keep consumers using those products for the time being.
He also doesn’t think Cass County Vector control will be using dubstep music from Skrillex to deter mosquitos anytime soon.
