Bruce Bekkerus joins It Takes Two with decades of automotive knowledge. Listeners get a chance to call or text in with their questions.
IN THIS EPISODE:
Bruce takes a question about an oil sensor that was providing bad readings, so the listener swapped it out and now they don’t have oil pressure – but no sensor light. Bruce advises that the screen is a very important part of the sensor and should definitely be replaced if you are replacing the entire sensor.
Pro-Tip: When purchasing a used vehicle, take it to your trusted mechanic and have them hook it up to the computer. When hooked up, ask how many ignition cycles have taken place since the last code clear. Sometimes a dishonest person will sweep problems under the rug by clearing the codes and then offering up the vehicle for a test drive. If there have only been 5 or 6 ignition cycles (the amount of times they have started the car since the last code clear) odds are something is being hidden. Buyer beware!
You can also get some pro advice on transmission seals – which do wear out over time – and when would be the appropriate time to replace them!
All of this, plus a whole lot more!
