Amy and JJ weigh in on some favorite titles of the last decade.
Here are some great movies from every year. They may or may not be Oscar winners or the top grossing films of the year, but they stick out amongst the hundreds released every year.
2010 – The King’s Speech
2011 – Moneyball
2012 – The Avengers
2013 – 12 Years a Slave
2014 – The Lego movie
2015 – Creed
2016 – Hell or High Water
2017 – Get Out
2018 – A Star is Born
2019 wasn’t an amazing year for movies, but it did have a few that shook the trees.
HERE IS THE 2019 LIST
For those who want to laugh
BOOKSMART
This comedy is Superbad with a female focused cast. Original, funny and a great example of where comedy has come (and going!).
For those who want something spooky
DOCTOR SLEEP
A bad release date hurt this adaptation of Stephen King’s sequel to “The Shining.” The hairs on your neck with tingle while watching this love letter to the original, while trying to establish itself as something independent.=
For those who want something based on a true story
FORD VS. FERRARI
The best racing movie I have seen in 15 years. This movie will rev you up, pun fully intended!
For those who want something mysterious
KNIVES OUT
Proving that audiences want an original movie, Rian Johnson’s film will keep you guessing while a family mourns the passing of their father…and who will get his millions!
For those who want something unique, inspirational and awesome
THE PEANUT BUTTER FALCON
This is the most original movie of 2019. This is my favorite movie of 2019. This is the movie I have pushed on people more than anything else in 2019.
