This Foodie Friday features some important consumer news.
Over 26,000 flat cook tops with touch buttons made by Whirlpool, JennAir and KitchenAid are being recalled after reports that the units may randomly turn on. Reports of fire and damage to nearby utensils and additional cook wear have been reported.
The glass cook tops were manufactured between December 2016 through July 2019 and sold at Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy and other various other stores starting in March 2017. The affected models have been pulled from store shelves as of August 2019.
If your range matches the description above, you are asked to contact Whirlpool IMMEDIATELY. They have said the only remedy is to replace the cook top completely and Whirlpool will make arrangements to do just that for their customers with a defective cooking surface.
Better to be safe than sorry.
