Joel Vettel has good news for golfers! By the end of the week, April 26th 2019 – all golf courses (except Edgewood) will be open. Have you very own Tiger Woods moment as you make a chip shot and get that Eagle…or triple boogey if you are JJ.
Edgewood is still under water and will need some late spring sprucing up, but rest assured that the Fargo Park District is working hard to get the north Fargo course up and running as soon as possible. Other courses have partially opened or have at least engaged their driving range – but we are now to the point where you can strap on that golf glove and pick up a new sleeve of balls.

Joel also mentions clean up. Flood years keep the Forester with Fargo Parks busy. Cutting down dead trees, encouraging growth in recently planted areas and making sure that the flood waters are properly cleaned up. This is a massive undertaking along the banks of the Red River. In some cases, it can take years to get a park back to it’s full condition. Also, CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOGS! Animal waste can be a huge problem at the parks. Not allowing pooches to poop in softball outfields, cleaning up waste near the parks and a hundred other places help keep the areas available to everyone. The garbage cans are there, just scoop the poop.

Lastly, there are also still job opportunities! Teenager, retirees, those looking for a second job and more. Get your applications in as soon as possible!
