Retired educator Bill Lucas is known by most folks as “Ole” from the FM Redhawks games in Fargo, ND – but he is also known as “The Profit Picker.” A man with the power to peruse garage and yard sales, find a bargain and turn it around for a profit.
Bill likes to “let the garage sale find ME” instead of scouring the internet and sale ads. It’s during his free time that he will drive from Fargo to Moorhead to Kindred to Grand Forks and anywhere in between searching for items that he can buy for a buck and then sell for a profit.

Picking is in his blood. His mother, Mary Ellen Lucas, was a frugal woman who inspired Bill’s love of the hunt. Bill notes that you can find perfectly good furniture, decor, electronics, baby clothes, kitchen gadgets and more for a fraction of the price. There is hardly anything a good hosing down can’t shine up like new!
