Scenario – you need a pick-me-up. You’ve had a bummer of a day. The big meeting is coming up and no amount of coffee will get you board room ready? Good news, a scientist from the University of Groningen in Holland has created a mathematical solution to finding the top 10 Most Uplifting Songs.
The equation uses the total number of uplifting lyrics and divides them by the amount of time the song stays at 150 beats per minute and key changes.
150 beats per minute is a tempo that provides people energy, the key a song is in can inspire confidence and the lyrics are a way to remind you of happier feelings.
Christmas music has an effect – but most people are looking for tunes that can be played the other 11 months of the year.
