FARGO (KFGO) – A couple of weeks ahead of schedule, the Main Ave. 2nd St. intersection in Fargo is open, with a two-lane roundabout, the first of its type in North Dakota.
Veterans Memorial Bridge and the 2nd St. underpass are also open. Main, between the river and Broadway, is three lanes with on-street parallel parking.
Drivers will also notice a message board later this year on the Veterans Memorial Bridge alerting of approaching trains, giving drivers the choice of using one of the three downtown underpasses.
The work cost more than $10-million.
More construction is planned next year on Main Ave. between Broadway and University Drive and on University between Main and NP Ave.
