WEST FARGO, ND (KFGO) – It will likely be Wednesday before it will be safe for Red River Valley Fair employees to enter a metal building that lost a section of roof under the weight of heavy snow.
Fair Manager Bryan Schultz says the fire department and a structural engineer have done a preliminary assessment and don’t believe the building is sound.
More than 60 classic and collector vehicles were stored in the building, one of 27 on the property.
Schultz says those who stored vehicles in the building were responsible for keeping insurance on them in the event of something beyond the control of the fair. He says fair employees had been working to remove snow from the buildings and he doesn’t believe the fair association is liable for what happened.
