WASHINGTON, DC (KFGO) – Congressman Collin Peterson says a provision in an emergency spending package seeks to restore a strong U-S Customs and Border Protection presence along the northern border.
It requires C-B-P to return northern border staffing levels to no less than 36-hundred officers. Around 730 officers were recently reassigned from northern ports of entry to the southern U-S border. Peterson said that restoring hours at the northern ports of entry is critical to commerce, emergency medical services and to those who live and work in Roseau, Lancaster, and northern Minnesota.”
The Minnesota Democrat claims the C-B-P has been “tone deaf” when it comes to understanding the importance of the northern border.
