BISMARCK, N.D. (KCND) – Next June, North Dakota will be hosting the Western Governors Association.
Governor Burgum was recently elected chairman of that organization. He says the meeting will be held in Medora.
In 1997, when then-Governor Ed Schafer headed up that group, he chartered a train from BNSF, from Bismarck to Medora. Burgum says he’s talking with the railroad about doing that again.
Burgum is also hosting an October first workshop in Fargo. He says the theme of his tenure as chairman will be “Reimagining the Rural West.”
