Grand Forks, ND (Prairie Public Radio) – The University of North Dakota School of Aerospace Science and an Australian company are joining forces to study honey bees. Director of the U-A-V program for U-N-D Aerospace, Paul Snyder, says they will use U-A-S aircraft to fly bee tracking technology over fields.
The tool is called BEE-dar. North Dakota is the leading producer of honey and a major producer of sunflowers. Snyder says this makes the area a “perfect match” for the project.
