FARGO (KFGO) – Two men have now been charged with murder and murder-conspiracy in the shooting death of Fargo food-trailer owner Jason Halvorson.
19-year-old Kareem Byrd and 30-year-old Charles Harris III are charged in the shooting early last Friday morning. Halvorson was shot with a 22-caliber revolver and a 9-millimeter. Bond has been set at $2-million cash, each.
According to the criminal complaints, Harris told police that he did not take part in the shooting directly. Byrd said both of them fired multiple rounds. It followed a dispute with Halvorson, who went by Jay. He died about an hour after the shooting.
The shooting took place outside Halvorson’s “Texas Q Barbeque” food trailer in the parking lot of the former Sahr’s Sudden Service downtown.
