John and Shelby (Mikkelson) Gardner live south of Aneta, ND on the family farm. Together they have 2 children Mack(5) and Nora (2 ½).
Shelby (33) grew up in Aneta, ND. She graduated from Dakota Prairie High School. While in high school she worked on the family farm and in the kitchen at APHC. After graduating HS she moved to Grand Forks, ND to attend college where she received her LPN, later her RN and worked at the Cancer Center of ND for 7 years. She is currently an RN at Aneta Parkview Health Center. On October 31st, 2025, Shelby was diagnosed with breast cancer and is undergoing treatment.
John (34) grew up in Farmington , MN. After graduating High school, he moved to GrandForks, ND where he attended UND and obtained a degree in History. While living in Grand Forks he worked at Rydells for 11 years. He is currently working/farming on Shelby's family farm. On December 26th, 2025, John was diagnosed with Lymphoma and is undergoing treatment as well
