FARGO (KFGO) – A Fargo man who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempted murder in 2013 is headed back to prison for having sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl in a Fargo park nearly two years ago.
Cass County District Court Judge Wade Webb has sentenced Damon White Bird, 33, to 30 years in state prison for having sex with the girl, who he worked with at a Fargo restaurant. 10 years of the sentence was suspended. White Bird entered an Alford plea to gross sexual imposition acknowledging that there was sufficient evidence to convict him. He was given credit for 650 days spent in custody following his arrest.
In November 2013, White Bird was found guilty of locking two men in his apartment and attacking them with a table leg and a sword. He was released from prison in March of 2022.
White Bird has a history of violent behavior. At his latest sentencing, security was tight with a dozen Cass County deputies in the courtroom.
