LARIMORE, N.D. (KFGO) – A Larimore man who was shot and killed by another man last Saturday afternoon in Larimore has been identified.
He was Jamey Holweger, 64.
Arrested at the end of a standoff with deputies and SWAT team members was Troy Larson, 43, who was believed to be related to Holweger.
A woman reported that Larson shot Holweger and she managed to escape.
A perimeter was established and a drone was flown into the home. Larson knocked the drone out of the air with SWAT repeatedly ordering him to surrender.
Larson eventually came outside wearing a bathrobe, but reached toward his right pocket. He was then shot in the back by a sheriff’s department sergeant using an AR-15 rifle. He was also hit by a 40 millimeter direct-impact round.
Larson remains hospitalized.
The homicide is under investigation by the sheriff’s department while the officer-involved shooting was turned over to the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
