FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – The Cass County Jail expansion project has started, and Sheriff Jesse Jahner says it is happening at a crucial time.
Jahner says the jail has been dealing with capacity issues over the years, but especially recently with the fast-growing population in Cass County.
“We’re excited about it. We’ve been struggling over the last two years as the community knows,” Jahner says. “I think this winter has helped out a lot because it hasn’t been cold, so I think construction has been able to stay on task.”
The expansion will bring in more beds and treatment options.
The expansion project is expected to be completed by April 2025.
