MAHNOMEN, Minn. (KFGO) – Two people are dead after a crash in Mahnomen County Friday morning.
The Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Bobby Weaver of Naytahwaush and 19-year-old Aaliyah Ironcloud of Mahnomen died after the vehicle they were in left the road and struck a tree at high speed.
They both died at the scene.
First responders received the call at 1:50 a.m. when a third person in the vehicle, 22-year-old Glen Weaver of Naytahwaush, walked to a residence for help. He was a backseat passenger in the vehicle and suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mahnomen Health Center by ambulance.
The Sheriff’s Office didn’t say who was driving. They also say it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
The Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office, White Earth Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Mahnomen Ambulance, Naytahwaush Ambulance, Mahnomen Fire Department, Waubun Fire Department, and Twin Lakes Fire Department all responded.
