ROCHESTER, MINN. – A Minneapolis woman faces felony theft charges in Olmsted County in connection with an alleged scheme involving Target stores throughout the Midwest.
A criminal complaint says 25-year-old Semaj Rankin is accused of participating in the theft of nearly $650 from a Rochester Target store in June 2023. The complaint says surveillance video shows Rankin placing several items in a shopping cart and then going to guest services to request a return for those items. Rankin is scheduled to make her first court appearance early next month.
The complaint does not provide additional details about the allegations related to a region-wide theft scheme.
