WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach is cheering U.S. House passage of a bill that would continue to provide welfare funding to pregnancy centers.
The Minnesota Republican told colleagues from the house floor that conservatives are there for unborn babies and their mothers.
“I introduced the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act to ensure the (Biden) administration does not block funding for pregnancy care centers across the country,” Fischbach said.
Fischbach said the Department of Health and Human Services wants to direct the funds to facilities that provide abortions.
The measure narrowly passed the Republican-controlled House with all Minnesota Democrats voting against it.
