WASHINGTON – Minnesota state legislators were among those from across the country meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris on gun violence prevention Wednesday at the White House.
President Joe Biden established an Office of Gun Violence Prevention, something Democratic state Senator Ron Latz from Saint Louis Park said Minnesota should consider.
“A number of states are starting to set those up,” Latz said. “Some of them have them within the attorney general’s office, some in the executive branch. So, I think we’ll be looking at something like that.”
Latz said such an office could not only focus directly on firearms, including the big issue of ghost guns, but also approach it as a community health problem.
