I did a lot of things I am embarrassed about when I was a high school kid now that I am an adult. I said racial jokes I shouldn’t have said, I said inappropriate things in front of girls, and did other various actions that unfortunately were more accepting in the 1980’s that they are today.
But most of these actions and words were not in front of adults. If it would have been in front of them, the adults in my life would have set me straight. So when I saw this video of Kentucky high school kids in Washington D.C. mocking an American Indian Vietnam Veteran, I asked myself, where are the parents or chaperones to stop this? They are as much to blame for these actions as anyone.
